Kid Niko
In 1997 or 1998 (historians disagree) Kid Niko, the ever-present friends of Carnivorous Grass during the golden years, came over to Paul's place in Lawrence, Kansas to record a CD, but the tapes of the session were soon lost forever, probably stolen by international spies. But Paul has found the tapes and now, halfway across the world from where they were made, they have been painstakingly remastered and now we present them to you here today, complete with Paul's notes. So here, for the very first time, are the secret recordings of Kyle, Bryce, Dylan, and Dan: Kid Niko!
Getting Dizzy
This is the best of several takes I have of this song, and Kyle's
throwing up at the end is one of his best.
ee cummings
Supposedly, Kyle thinks he sucks but he likes this song.
We Might Be Christian Rock
The example bands in this song date it a little, but the overall
message is, of course, timeless.
Psycho
This is the one I've remembered the most lyrics to over the years,
and I always follow the mom's advice.
Surf Rock
I don't actually remember them playing this at any of their concerts,
but it obviously started the whole surf rock craze. Not to be confused
with their other hit, Sir Frock.
Lullaby
I based my life on this song for a few years after hearing it. I left in
the pre- and post- song chatter to get a sense of how tense the recording
session was and why the band broke up after working with me...
St. Nora (outtakes)
This is one of the takes for Kid Niko's emotional showstopper, but it
sounds like the mic falls down onto the snare drum towards the end and
the guys in the band express their dismay.
